BOOKDU Privacy Policy

Overview

BOOKDU is a finance tracking app for models, talent, and creatives who work through agencies. We believe your financial data is personal and should remain under your control. This privacy policy explains how BOOKDU handles your information.

Data Storage

All data you enter into BOOKDU is stored locally on your device by default:

• Job and payment records - Stored in a local database on your iPhone
• Contract PDFs - Stored locally on your device
• Schedule and calendar data - Stored locally on your device
• Expense records and receipt photos - Stored locally on your device
• Tax calculations - Computed locally based on your entered data
• App preferences - Stored locally on your device

Optional Backup

BOOKDU offers an optional backup feature so you can recover your data if you lose or break your phone. When enabled:

• Your data is backed up using Apple's iCloud infrastructure
• Backup is off by default and must be explicitly enabled in Settings
• You can disable backup at any time
• BOOKDU does not operate its own servers or cloud services

If backup is disabled, your data exists only on your device.

App Lock

BOOKDU includes an app lock feature to protect your financial data. When enabled, the app requires authentication (Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode) before displaying any data. Lock settings are stored locally on your device.

Camera and Photo Library Access

BOOKDU requests access to your camera and photo library for the following purposes:

• Expense receipts - To photograph or select images of receipts to attach to expense records
• Contract documents - To select PDF files of agency contracts for storage within the app

Images and documents you capture or select are:

• Processed and stored locally on your device
• Never uploaded to any external server (unless backup is enabled, in which case they are included in your iCloud backup)

Notifications

BOOKDU sends local notifications to remind you about:

• Overdue payments (at 35 and 56 days)
• Upcoming work dates
• Unconfirmed jobs that are coming up
• Contract expiry dates and notice deadlines
• Weekly payment summaries

All notifications are generated and scheduled locally on your device. No notification data is sent to any server.

Data We Do NOT Collect

BOOKDU does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following on external servers:

• Personal identification information (names, emails, phone numbers)
• Location data
• Advertising identifiers
• Your financial records, payment amounts, or contract details
• Any data that could identify you personally

Analytics

BOOKDU uses PostHog, a privacy-focused analytics service, to help us understand how the app is used and improve the experience. This analytics data is:

• Anonymous - No personal identifiers, names, emails, or device IDs are collected
• Aggregated - We see general usage patterns, not individual user behavior
• Limited - Only basic app events like "app opened" or "job created" are tracked
• Privacy-safe - Financial amounts use ranges (e.g., "$100-500") rather than exact values

This data helps us understand which features are most useful and identify areas for improvement. It is never used for advertising or sold to third parties.

No Advertising or Tracking

BOOKDU does not integrate with any advertising networks or cross-app tracking services. We do not use advertising identifiers or track you across other apps or websites.

Data Export

You can export your jobs or expenses as a CSV file at any time, with custom date ranges. This export is initiated by you and the file is saved to your device or shared via iOS sharing options. We have no access to exported files.

Data Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

• Deleting individual jobs, expenses, or contracts removes them from your device
• Uninstalling BOOKDU removes all app data from your device
• If backup is enabled, you can disable it and delete backup data through your iCloud settings

Children's Privacy

BOOKDU is a financial tracking tool intended for models, talent, and creatives and is not directed at children under 13. The app does not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
